Sounds like buttcheeks. Hollow sound and -no- bass response. Save your money.

It's what I expected from "so" flat speakers, only the design worth to spend $270 to buy this dock.

We're having an issue with the S-Video out. There is no signal to the TV, so the iPod video cannot be watched on the screen despite what the packaging claims.

It's weird I did not know this dock has a S-Video output, even on Teac's site I don't find any mention about it, are you sure that you own this model and not another one ?

If not maybe it's a configuration problem, try to select different outputs and if it still doesn't work contact your retailer and inform it about the situation smile

I just came back to my computer to clarify an oversight of mine and saw your message.
1st--yes this is the model I'm referring to. We bought it specifically because the packaging specifies watching the iPod on your TV with the S-Video cable (it also can be connected with a regular RCA type video cable)
2nd--and this is where my oversight came in--the iPod has a menu function for: video settings, TV out, yes/no/ask. The defaut on the iPod is NO so for the life of me I could not figure out why the TV was not getting the video output. You have to change it to YES, and the TEAC will send the video on to the TV.

So, my apologies to TEAC, this is a fine product. And for future reference, you may want to tell buyers that they need to change the video out on the iPod to avoid confusion and frustration.

NJShorebeachbum,

Hey, thanks alot, NJShoreBeachBum thumbup I couldn't understand why I wasn't getting video on my monitor with the S-video cable so I came to this website to see if I could find more detailed instructions than the ones that came with the unit. And VIOLA...here's your post with the solution to my problem, in plain English. You saved me alot of hassle, so I sure do appreciate that you shared your epiphany. Okay...I'm going to watch some videos!!

jjfree AND ALL READERS: THIS UNIT DOES NOT OPERATE IN THE VIDEO OUT MODE WITH IPOD CLASSIC 80GB AND 160GB. TEAC IS FRAUDULENTLY ADVERTISING COMPATIBILITY, KNOWING FULL WELL FOR OVER SIX MONTHS THAT THE CLASSIC 80GB AND 160GB PROTOCOLS PROHIBIT USE WITH THIS UNIT. THE REMOTE CONTROL ALSO DOES NOT WORK WITH THE CLASSIC 80GB AND 160GB, AND DESPITE THE PRODUCT FEATURES LISTED ON THE TEAC WEBSITE THE UNIT I RECEIVED DID NOT INCLUDE THE VIDEO OUTPUT CONNECTORS. MY PREVIOUS MESSAGE WAS POSTED PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE VIDEO OUTPUT CONNECTORS AND ATTEMPTING TO USE THE VIDEO OUT FEATURE WITH MY CLASSIC 80GB. I SPOKE WITH TEAC RECEIVED AN E-MAIL FROM THEM ADMTTING THIS FRAUD. COSTCO, THE "EXCLUSIVE RETAILER" ACCORDING TO TEAC TECH SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE "JIMMY", NO LONGER CARRIES THIS UNIT IN THEIR STORES OR ON THEIR WEBSITE.

IF YOU PURCHASED THE MC-DX32i FOR USE WITH IPOD CLASSIC 80GB OR 160GB YOU ARE A VICTIM OF CONSUMER FRAUD AND I ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONTACT THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION, THE CONSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY, AND YOUR STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL.

the costco item DOES have video out (RCA) but doesnt work with 3g Nanos or Ipod Classic as these are programmed to look for a proprietary apple chip in the video out channel. This isnt Teacs fault as it wasn't even announced by apple - there are numerous mysterious video out "problems" on the web due to this problem. Only the apple branded video out cables work. I'm sure Costco will accept returns for this reason.

this new classic and 3g nano ipods aren't even compatible with the older 3rd party ipod interfaces (like anapod) due to changes in the firmware - this is confirmed personally. Though some supposedly are (Poddox) - I've never tried it though.

I just relocated my MC-DX 32i from my home to my place of business. When I plugged the multi-pin cable that runs from the subwoofer into the receptacle of the play deck, one of the pins bent down. I pulled it back up and they all sit in the proper holes now, but the subwoofer unit won't power 'on', therefore the entire system won't work.
There is no reset button.
What can I do?
Thanks.
