Miller & Kreisel M Series Speakers for Home Entertainment

Miller & Kreisel is making its M series 5.1 speaker systems, originally developed for professionals, available for home entertainment use. The range is composed of two models, the M5 and M7 systems, each includes two front speakers, two surround speakers, a center channel speaker and an active subwoofer.

Both M systems use 1-inch soft-dome ferroluid neodymium tweeters, 4-inch coated pulp bass/mid drivers and employ MK SOUND’s exclusive phase focused crossovers. The surround speakers feature a patented tripolar design to provide a consistent surround soundield with seamless transitions between front and rear speakers. The M SB-8 is a 150W RMS subwoofer with a 8-inch long-throw driver housed in a sealed enclosure while the M SB-12 incorporates a 12-inch woofer and delivers 250W.

Available in black or white satin finish with metal mesh grille, the M series price start at £1495.

Denon has cut £200 off its S-81 stereo system with DAB tuner, bringing it down from £600 to £400. This stereo includes a DAB/FM/AM radio tuner and a CD player with Burr Brown 24bit/192kHz D/A converters to provide exceptional detailed sound from various sources such as CDs, MP3 or WMA 9 discs. In addition, the S-81 provides iPod connectivity and control with either a Denon iPod cable (AK-P100) or Denon's D-dock.

Yamah DVX-1000 2.1-ch. Home Theater System

Yamaha will launch in mid-April in Japan a new home theater in a box called the DVX-1000. Composed of a subwoofer, two front speakers and a DVD player/Integrated amplifier the DVX-1000 is able to deliver 7.1 surround sound with Yamaha's "Air Surround Xtreme" technology. The integrated amplifier boasts a total of 280W, 2x 90W + 100W for the subwoofer.

The DVD player is compatible with video formats like DivX, MP3 and WMA, if features Faroudja DCDI chip with 1080p upscaling, Dolby digital/DTS/AAC decoders, an AM/FM radio tuner along with HDMI and USB connectivities.

Featuring the latest components like Blu-ray players, AMD Phenom Quad Core processors along with AMD ATI Radeon HD 3200 or HD 3450 graphic cards with 1080p output and full HD upscaling via an included Universal Video Decoder, the Axess HD media centers offer a stunning high definition experience. Also it provides 960 hours of HD recordings, 802.11n Wi-Fi , and a variety of premium input devices.

The computer hardware is housed in a sleek and low-profile enclosure design utilizing up to 10mm thick aluminum construction, acrylic trim, and an optional OLED front panel display.

This basic version of the Axess HD equipped with a Blu-ray disc player and Microsoft Windows Vista comes for $1,400.
