Martin Logan announced the introduction of the new Spire electrostatic loudspeaker. This hybrid loudspeaker features housed in an ultra-rigid, extruded aluminum AirFrame a curvilinear XStat electrostatic transducer and to remedy to the lack of bass, Martin Logan added an extra 10" aluminum cone woofer and its 200W amplifier, which extends frequency response down to 29Hz. Spire loudspeaker will be available in May at $8495/pair in a variety of cabinet finishes including Black Ash, Dark Cherry, Natural Cherry, Maple, Birds Eye Maple, Wenge, and Rotary Cut Bubinga. Additional finishes are offered through the MartinLogan Custom Shop.

| Logitech Pure-Fi Express Portable Speakers for iPod |

Logitech released the Pure-Fi Express (PF-400) which replaces the AS-50EX. The Pure-Fi Express is a portable speakers for iPod (all models except iPhone), it includes a pair of 2.5" Max-X high-excursion drivers powered by either an AC adapter (100-240 V) or 6x AA batteries. Also the dock has the ability to charge your iPod while you listen and it features a custom EQ, video output (composite), auxiliary input jack and a remote control. It retails for €79 and carries a 2-year warranty.

| Logicool aka Logitech Launches the LS11 & LS21 Computer Speakers |

On April 18th, Logicool (aka Logitech) will launch new computer speaker systems including the LS11, a basic 2.0-channel stereo speaker kit and the LS21 (pictured), which adds a subwoofer. Both models employ the same satellite speakers with 50mm fullrange drivers self-powered by a 1.5W per channel amplifier and the subwoofer includes in the LS21 utilizes a 95mm woofer. Also the LS21 model includes a wired remote with volume control, power switch and a headphone output. Prices are about $40 for the LS21 and $20 the LS11, respectively.

Scheduled for release in mid-May for £500, the new Yamaha YSP-600 digital sound projector will give you high quality surround sound with the Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6 compatibility. The sound bar includes IntelliBeam Automated System Calibration for easy setup, a built-in 62W digital amplifier, 1080p-compatible HDMI (2 in/1 out) and several sound presets. The YSP-600 measures 61cm wide so it should nicely under a 32" flat TV.

Announced last September the DSM-750 Media Extender from D-Link finally hits the shelves. Available at D-Link's store for $329.99 the DSM-750 can stream music, photos, and HD videos stored on a PC, NAS (Network Attached Storage) or a USB flash drive to your HTPC over a wireless Draft 802.11n or wired Ethernet network. It includes HDMI connectivity for resolution of up to 1080i, S-video, and composite output, there are also coaxial and optical digital audio output for delivering digital surround sound. Also the DSM-750 is compatible with Vista Home Premium or Vista Ultimate as well as standard Windows Vista and XP computers through Microsoft’s Windows Media Player 11 or Windows Media Connect and other Universal Plug and Play (UpnP) media servers.

| KEF Unveils KHT2005.3 Home Theater Speaker System |

According to CEPro KEF has unveiled a new home theater speaker system, the KHT2005.3 including the new KUBE-2 subwoofer. Egg-shaped like the KHT1005.2 this 5.1ch system includes four satellites, a center channel and the KUBE-2 subwoofer. The KUBE-2 employs Uni-Q drivers technology using a 10-inch woofer paired with a 10-inch radiator powered by a 200W class D amplifier. The KHT2005.3 series will retail at an MSRP of $1,299.99 in black or silver color.

Okoro launches new high-end media centers with Solid State Drive Technology (SSD). The ZX series utilizes a 3.0GHz quad-core Intel processor, high speed Solid State Drives (32GB) along with 1TB of hard drive disk for media storage, 3GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT video card and a combo Blu-ray/HD DVD player. This series will also be the first HTPC available that allows customers to choose any automotive color they desire as a standard feature.
