Denon will release by the end of the month a couple of new entry-level receivers, the AVC-1909 and AVC-1509.

The first one, priced at $790, is a 7.1-channel receiver with 7x 140W output (6Ω), high-performance 32-bit DSP, Faroudja DCDi video processing with 1080p up-conversion, Audyssey’s Dynamic Volume automatic volume leveling system, Dolby TrueHD / Dolby Digital Plus / DTS-HD Master Audio support and HDMI 1.3a I/O.

Concerning the second amplifier, it provides only 5.1-channel audio with an output power rated at 130W per channel (6Ω). However, as the amplifier is not compatible with 7.1 audio, it doesn't support the latest 7.1 channel surround sound formats. There is also HDMI I/O with video switching, 32-bit DSP and Audyssey’s Dynamic Volume. It will be available for $470.

The Denon RCD-CX1 is the combination of the PMA-CX3 amplifier and the DCD-CXA Super Audio CD player into a single box. The RCD-CX1 supports CDs, SACDs and MP3/WMA encoded discs, has separate digital and analog transformers, for stable power supply and improved music playback performance, 2x 75W amplifier, built-in AM/FM tuner and optical digital output.

The compact unit measures 300x 300x 110mm, and it will be on sale in Japan in mid-July for about $1,700.

Denon is introducing ten new, advanced audio/video receivers. All new models are designed to give consumers simple, powerful and more affordable solutions for enjoying the very best performance from today’s advanced home entertainment formats, as well as provide additional multi-zone A/V capabilities to enhance a user’s lifestyle. Denon's new offerings include the multi-zone Models AVR-2809CI ($1,199), AVR-2309CI ($849), AVR-1909 ($649), AVR-1709 ($449) and AVR-1609 ($349), as well as five new high-performance, high-value receivers in its Retail Home Theater Series line, the AVR-989 ($1,199), AVR-889 ($749), AVR-789 ($599), AVR-689 ($399), and AVR-589 ($299).

Models AVR-2809CI, AVR-2309CI, AVR-1909, AVR-989, AVR-889 and AVR-789 are HDMI v1.3a compliant and offer upconversion to 1080p from all analog sources, as well as support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, while the AVR-689 and AVR-589 only do Dolby Digital, DTS-ES Discrete and Matrix 6.1 decoding, but still offer HDMI v1.3a compatibility.

The new Denon's product line will be available this month.

Denon has unveiled its first compact on-ear noise-canceling headphones, the AH-NC732. Weighting at just 160g, the AH-NC732 comes well equipped with a 6.5mm jack to 3.5mm stereo Plug adapter, a 3.5mm jack to 2x 3.5mm, two jack extension cables and a hard carrying case. The noise cancellation unit is powered by 3x AAA batteries and the headphones have rotatable ear cups for one-ear listening.

The AH-NC732 will be sold in August for $299.

Denon lowers price on high-end Blu-ray players by launching the DVD-1800BD player. This player incorporates HDMI v1.3a with Deep Color and Bonus View support, Dolby Digital Plus/Dolby True HD/DTS-HD/DTS-HD MA decoders, 1080p upconversion and high-class Burr-Brown DACs.

The Denon DVD-1800BD is scheduled for availability in October 2008 for $749 instead of $1,199 for the actual entry-level model.

Denon released a new hifi system, the D-M37 which is comprised of two speakers (SC-M37) and the main unit (RCD-M37). The system includes a CD player as well as a USB port to play MP3 files and CDs, an AM/FM tuner, 2x 30W power amplifier, and there is also an optional iPod dock cable so you can remote control your iPod directly through your Denon's system.

The Denon S-52 wireless network music system delivers music from your computer throughout the home. WiFi certified, the S-52 offers the ability to stream MP3/WMA/AAC/WAV/FLAC music either via Ethernet, or wirelessly, from internet radio sources and other network attached storage devices such as PC or Mac computers on the network.

It also features a USB port that allows users to connect USB mass storage devices such flash drives, MP3 players or USB hard drives. There is a clock with two alarms and auto adjust via internet, FM/AM radio, a slot-loading CD player, a built-in dock for iPod and a built-in HD radio tuner.

The S-52 is available at Amazon for $699.

Denon has cut £200 off its S-81 stereo system with DAB tuner, bringing it down from £600 to £400. This stereo includes a DAB/FM/AM radio tuner and a CD player with Burr Brown 24bit/192kHz D/A converters to provide exceptional detailed sound from various sources such as CDs, MP3 or WMA 9 discs. In addition, the S-81 provides iPod connectivity and control with either a Denon iPod cable (AK-P100) or Denon's D-dock.

Today, Denon Japan announced two new speaker series for home theater enthusiasts, the 55SG and 33SG, due to release in early March. Both series comprise a bookshelf speaker (SC-A33SG/SC-A55SG), a floorstanding speaker (SC-T33SG/SC-T55SG), a center channel (SC-C33SG/SC-C55SG) and a powered subwoofer (DSW-33SG/DSW-55SG).

These new speakers made in natural wood features the Denon's P.P.D.D (Push-Pull Dual Driver) technology from the CX3-Series of hi-fi system, utilising carbon fiber mediums and soft dome tweeters. The subwoofer delivers 80W or 100W of peak power for the DSW-55SG and has built-in adjustable low-pass crossover and phase switch.

Denon Japan has announced its new portable foldable headphones, the AH-P372. It will retail in black or white color next month for about 59.90€ in Europe. These headphones include the "Acoustic optimiser" feature from Denon which balances the sound pressure in front of and behind the diaphragm to deliver dynamic bass sounds. Also the AH-P372 allows one-eared monitoring with a reversal mechanism.
