AKG Acoustics will release in August the new K702 headphones. The headphones feature besides its detachable XLR cable, a revolutionary flat-wire voice coil technology for accurate sound and transient response for professional use as well as around the ear headphones for personal use. The sound clarity is enhanced with the patented Varimotion 2-layer diaphragm, which produces clear highs and accurate bass response.

The K702 comes in a sleek blue finish accompanied by personalized fitting ear pads.

Audio-Technica has introduced the ATH-FW3 Headphones for women. The lightweight (60g), compact design of these headphones make them easy to carry and store. They are foldable and come with a carrying pouch. The ATH-FW3 was announced to be released in Japan on July 25th for a price of $35 only.

Marantz released the HP101, a new pair of earphones with aluminum body to reduce vibration. According to Marantz, the use of aluminum eliminates unwanted vibration for clear sound reproduction. The earphones have 9.5mm drivers, and comes with 3 different sized earbuds, carrying case and a 1m extension cable for a price of $80.

Panasonice has unveiled new earphones on their US website. The RP-HJE550-S earphones feature an aluminum housing for exceptional sound quality and great design as well. The earphones comes with 3x pairs of earpads (S/M/L), carrying pouch and cord case. No info on pricing or availability yet.

Denon has unveiled its first compact on-ear noise-canceling headphones, the AH-NC732. Weighting at just 160g, the AH-NC732 comes well equipped with a 6.5mm jack to 3.5mm stereo Plug adapter, a 3.5mm jack to 2x 3.5mm, two jack extension cables and a hard carrying case. The noise cancellation unit is powered by 3x AAA batteries and the headphones have rotatable ear cups for one-ear listening.

The AH-NC732 will be sold in August for $299.

Panasonic Japan has announced two noise-canceling headphones to be released on June 20th. The RP-HC31 and RP-HC55 feature a non-detachable noise reduction unit which reduces low-frequency noise by 15 and 18dB for 27 and 20h of battery life respectively. They are priced at $65 for the RP-HC31 and $90 the RP-HC55.

Following the introduction of the Image X10 last November, Klipsch expands its Image line to include the slightly larger X5. Bigger by only 2mm, this minimal size difference makes the X5 easier and slightly less expensive to manufacture, said Klipsch. The headphones employ balanced full-range armature drivers within electroplated aluminum housings with translucent patent-pending contour ear gels.

The Image X5 is compatible with the iPod, iPhone and virtually any device with a standard headphone jack. These headphones also come with a carrying pouch, an airplane adaptor and an ear gel cleaning tool. Priced at $249.99, the Image X5 headphones will be available for purchase late next month.

JVC aims the low-cost market with the launch of their new HP-S150 headphones in Japan in early July. Priced at $20 these headphones seem to be a good deal. There is not much to say about them except that they come in four colors (blue, black, red and white) and weight 68g.

Panasonic will release their new RP-HJE900 high-end earphones in Japan on June 15th. These boast a body and driver made of zirconia, which is commonly used as a substitute for diamond in jewelery and known for its hardness. According to Panasonic, this material reduces vibration and improve sound quality. The RP-HJE900 comes with 1.2m detachable cables and don't expect them at less than $100, the announced price is about $190.

The ATH-CK10 are the new state-of-the-art earphones ever made by Audio-Technica, but they are not cheap.
