Panasonic will introduce its RP-HSW50 clip-on headphones for about $25 in Japan next month. The Panasonic RP-HSW50 is a clip-on design headphone with comfort-fit hinge. Its slim design with a 15 mm thickness earpiece gives it a weight of only 22g each one and includes a 30mm driver which delivers crystal clear sound, it supports a maximum of 1W @ 20 Ω ( 14 - 24,000 Hz). It also features a 1.0m cord length, a neck cord and a flat plug adapter for mobile phone users and finally, the RP-HSW50 is available in silver, white, black, red, pink, blue or gold for about $40.

Panasonic announced its new RP-HTR70 headphones for around $45 on November 20th in Japan. Available in several colors as you can see on the picture above, these affordable headphones use flexible stainless steel for the headband construction and weighs only 85g. The 30mm drivers delivers a maximum output of 1W @ 20 Ω with a frequency response of 14 - 24,000Hz. Panasonic's RP-HTR70 get a cord length of 1.2m with 3.5mm jack and will be shipped with a plug adapter.

The RP-WF5500 wireless 5.1ch headphones were unveiled by Panansonic, and could hit the market on November 20th in Japan They are the World’s smallest and lightest wireless surround sound headphones according to Panasonic with a weight of only 255g. It features 5.1 channel with wireless transmission on the 2.4GHz band over a 30 meters range. The 40mm drivers (20Hz - 22kHz) comes from his brother "RP-WF6000" on sale since November 2006. The decoder supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS and AAC via a couple of inputs such two optical digital inputs, two analog 2ch inputs (RCA), and one digital audio output. Furthermore, the RP-WF5500 has an autonomy of up to 6 hours of continuous playback, a bass-boost function and it will be available in black or white color.

Sony is going to release in Japan on November 10th for $200, the MDR-DS7000, a wireless 7.1 channel surround sound headphones. Successor of the 5.1 channel headphones MDR-DS6000 model, the Sony MDR-DS7000 delivers a 7.1 channel sound with the Sony's "Virtualphones Technology" (VPT) wireless via the 2.4Ghz band. The MDR-DS7000 adopts a 40mm driver with a frequency response of 6Hz - 25kHz and the internal lithium-ion battery lasts for 10 hours of continuous playback. Moreover the external decoder is compatible DTS, DTS-ES, AAC and gets two digital inputs and one analog input.

Sony Japan has announced its new MDR-EX55SL earphones, available in black, white, blue or pink color bundled with 3 differents sized eartips. | Pioneer unveils SE-CLX9 / SE-CLX7 earphones |

Pioneer has introduced its new "SE" canal type headphone series with the SE-CLX9 and the SE-CLX7 model. They look to differ only in the material they are constructed from, the SE-CLX9 is made in aluminum and the SE-CLX7 in simple metal according to AkihabaraNews. Both come bundled with five different earbuds that can be used for different genres of music such High Tune 1, High Tune2, Standard, Bass Tune 1 and Bass Tune 2 styles. Each pair arrives with an extension cable and a carrying case. They use the same speakers which produce a SNR of 105dB with a maximum output of 100mW @ 32Ω, and work on a bandwidth of 20Hz to 20kHz. The duo will be on the market next month, priced at $190 for the SE-CLX9 and the SE-CLX7 will cost you $100.

 Having a wired connection between your hi-fi and headphones can be a bit of a drag, so we can understand the appeal of wireless cans. Trouble is, they're often prone to interference, but Philips reckons it has the answer. Its new $345 SHD9100 headphones transmit sound wirelessly via the 2400-2403.5 MHz frequency, which Philips says results in less interference, lower power consumption and better sound quality than analog FM transmission systems. The headphones employ a pair of 50mm drivers and will operate in a 30 meters range. They come with a docking station that doubles as a recharger, giving up to six hours of continuous playback time. An ultra-lightweight headband and breathable fabric ear cushions are intended to make them more comfortable during long listening sessions, and automatic tuning means set-up should be straightforward.

Denon recently announced its new AH-C551 in-ear headphones.
