CES 2008 - JVC TH-F3 Home Theater System

The new JVC TH-F3 home theater system offers simple set-up, high performance and connectivity options that allow it to accommodate the full range of digital home entertainment devices, all wrapped in an elegant, hi-fi component-style design.

This home theater system is a 4.1-channel system featuring a DVD receiver with HDMI output with 1080p up-conversion, USB Host, an included iPod docking station and MP3, WMA, JPEG, MPEG-4 ASF and DivX Ultra playback. To deliver on its simplicity promise, the TH-F3 features JVC’s front surround technology combined with a new speaker design, eliminating the need for rear speakers.

The JVC TH-F3 home theater system will be available in May at $500.00.

The Sound Wall RHT-S10 home theater stand with an included surround sound system is the first Sony’s 5.1-channel surround sound system to offer built-in speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer in one slim speaker package. The sound system is attached to a free-standing wall facade that also serves as a mount for a television. Wires are hidden behind the wall and connected to an integrated A/V rack anchored at the base of the media stand.

The system delivers a total of 350W through five speakers by a S-Master digital amplifier and it incorporates a subwoofer built into the unit. The RHT-S10 has four digital audio inputs (three optical, one coaxial), two analog audio inputs, an LFE output and pass-through HDMI.

The Sound Wall RHT-S10 system will be available in Spring but no word on price yet.

It also double as the central speaker.

The HTS6515D's sleek vertical design offers consumers another stylish and elegant option that reduces clutter. And for maximum audio quality and clarity, the Ambisound system has DoubleBASS which results in deeper bass performance, and FullSound features for improved MP3 audio quality.

Philips' HTS6515D Home Theater system is expected in stores by May at a retail price of $499.

Philips' HTS6100 DVD home theater system with Ambisound technology features a full, 5.1 multi-channel surround sound experience through a one-piece, fully-integrated home theater system. The HTS6100 is priced at $599, that's about $200 less than the company's HTS8100 model.

Inside the sound bar a built-in DVD player features video upscaling and HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC), the system is also equipped with USB connectivity and an iPod dock to enable users to charge, play and control iPod content while it plays on the Ambisound home theater.

In addition the Ambisound system can be easily mounted on a wall underneath a Flat TV display or placed on a stand. Featuring a single, central receiver and subwoofer, there is no risk of cluttered space or tangled speaker wires and the Philips' system perfectly complements any Flat TV display.

Samsung offers three new models in its 5.1-channel Home Theater series using wireless speakers with 5.8 GHz technology. The HT-Z510 series consists of the HT-Z510, which features four satellite speakers; the HT-Z512 (pictured), which features two satellites and two tallboys; and the HT-Z515, which has four tallboys.

Each system includes a five-disc, 1080p-upconverting DVD player compatibe DVD, CD, MP3, DivX, JPEG and DVD-Audio, and it incorporates "Auto Sound Calibration" to ensure exceptional sound in any type of room. The HT-Z510 delivers 400 watts of power, while the HT-Z515 doubles that, in addition to featuring wireless-ready rear speakers for added convenience.

The HT-Z510 ($379), HT-Z512 ($429) and HT-Z515 ($479) will be available in April 2008.

At the Consumer Electronics Show, Polk Audio is debuting the $1,199.95 SurroundBar 360 DVD Theater, a two-piece surround sound system that includes a single, attractive SurroundBar 360 multichannel loudspeaker and a separate, compact electronics console that contains an integrated DVD/CD player, SDA signal-processing amplifier, AM/FM radio, and a host of digital, analog, USB, and video inputs.

The SurroundBar360 DVD Theater features a new active version of SDA technology that combines signal processing and acoustical geometry to create 360° surround from the eight drivers. The A/V receiver features HDMI high-definition video output and uses Faroudja DCDi2 to upscale any S-Video or composite signal into high-definition video up to 1080i resolution. Also the unit supports DTS Digital Surround and Dolby Digital surround sound formats while the player can read MPG2, MPG, CD, CD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, MP3 at resolutions up to 384kbps VBR.

LG has partnered with the prestigious manufacturer of high-end audio materials Mark Levinson to produce 2 new home theater system, AP3133 and LHT888 (picture above) to be showcased these days during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

The AP3133 features multi-driver floor standing loudspeakers, center channel speaker, surrounds, and powerful subwoofer.
