Krell Papa Dock Amplifier Gives Power to the KID iPod Dock

Here is the KID's daddy laughing, the Krell Papa Dock power amplifier has been designed for the KID (Krell Interface Dock) iPod/iPhone dock. It delivers up to 150 watts of power and features a 40,000 microfarad power supply. It also has physically isolated left and right channels, twelve high current output devices and WBT speaker connectors. Papa Dock automatically powers on when an iPod is inserted and powers off when the iPod is removed.

The Krell's Papa Dock power amplifier is available for $2,500 while "its" KID is priced at $1,500.

Meridian i80 iPod Dock to Match the Ferrari F80 Audio System

Meridian has unveiled the new i80 universal dock to fit all dockable iPods. Designed in complement to the Ferrari F80 audio system, Meridian says the i80 offers the "very finest" solution for listening to, and sharing your, digital music collection. The i80 connects to the F80 simply, allowing immediate and complete control of the music library stored on the iPod through the F80 remote control or its front panel buttons. Track info is relayed via the F80's OLED display and the i80 also charges your iPod so you get continuous play with no need for extra power cables.

The dock is available in standard gloss black, but has clip-on red or yellow trims so it matches your particular F80 model. It's available in the next few days for £195.

Porsche doesn't only design luxury cars, they also design electronic products such as mobile phones, GPS and iPod docks.

Here is the Eton P9120 which was designed by Porsche, this table top system comes with a separate iPod dock and a stylish remote control. The unit is made of extruded aluminum and includes three 1.5" full-range drivers along with a 15W 3" active subwoofer. The P9120 has a OLED alphanumeric display with clock function, AM/FM tuner and DAB tuner for British market. It's priced at $600.

Offering Internet radio with 10,000+ stations worldwide, an iPod docking station, FM radio, and a USB port, the new TerraTec NOXON iRadio for iPod has started shipping in Europe for €299. The radio connects easily to any home network wirelessly or wired (WiFi 802.11 b/g and Ethernet connectivity) to play Internet radio and to access to music archived on PC and network attached storage (NAS). The device is able to play back MP3, AAC+ and WMA files with support of Microsoft DRM-10.

The NOXON iRadio for iPod also plays songs delivered from an iPod, and charges it as well. The device automatically acknowledges the iPod as soon as an iPod connector docks on, and responds to remote control commands.

The new Panasonic SC-NS570SD iPod dock will be launched in Japan on june 20th. The system is composed of three parts, a pair of wooden speakers and the main unit includes a CD player, iPod dock, SD card slot, 2x 15W amplifier and an AM/FM tuner. The docking station is compatible with MP3/WMA/AAC audio files and you can rip your audio CDs to an SD card in AAC format.

The main unit measures 211x 300x 184mm and weight 3.45kg, while each speaker measures 127x 228x 184mm and weight 1.4kg. The whole system is available in Japan for about $290.

Harman Kardon The Bridge II iPod/iPhone Docking Station

Harman Kardon has officially announced its new iPod/iPhone dock for its line of A/V receivers. Called "The Bridge II", this docking station enables expanded iPod capabilities including audio/video playback through a home entertainment system, on-screen iPod menu display, remote control operation, and charging.

The Bridge II will be available in early summer 2008 at $129 suggested retail. It will also be packed with the AVR 354 receiver.

Gear4 DUO - Versatile Stereo Speaker System For iPod

Gear4 has recently announced its new DUO speaker system for iPod in the United Kingdom. The Gear4 DUO combines a bass unit and a detachable front panel with retractable iPod dock that can serve as a standalone portable speaker system powered by a built-in rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. The patented Seamless Sound Technology (SST) allows the satellite speaker to be effortlessly docked into the Bass Unit, where its battery will automatically recharge, making it permanently ready for portable use.

The whole system provides 38W of total output, and includes a remote control and five iPod adapters. Gear4 will begin shipping its DUO iPod dock in June for £150.

The Orbitsound T6 is a unique iPod docking system with dual triode valve amplifiers along with a single stereo speaker. The airSOUND technology encodes standard L/R stereo with spatial signal information, the direct signal is reproduced from the front firing driver and the spatial information from smaller side firing transducers. These signals combine in the air to produce uniform stereo sound everywhere in a room, so, unlike conventional stereo docks, speaker positioning is non critical.

The T6 also has auxiliary inputs to enable connection of other sound sources including PC audio. It will be available in June.
