Akurate DS will be available from LINN Specialist retailers from January at the suggested retail price of £3,450.

CableCARD support allows you to watch premium digital cable content on your TV without the need for a cable box or PVR.

The TX series prices start from $2095 and will be available on February 2nd.

CES 2008 - Logitech Squeezebox Duet

Logitech's Squeezebox Duet is a handheld receiver that uses 802.11g to wirelessly stream music throughout your house. The Duet is platform friendly, running on Macs, PCs and Linux machines and handling a buttload of non-DRM file formats, including Apple Lossless, FLAC, WMA Lossless as well as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, MP2, MusePack and WMA. The controller's 2.4-inch color LCD lets you browse your music library using a scroll-wheel along with sensitive buttons.

The Squeezebox Duet "network music system" comes with both receiver and controller for $400 and a two-year warranty, and will be available in the US and Europe this month. Additional receivers will cost $150 and additional controllers $300.

Pinnacle Video Transfer to Record on any Device without PC

The Pinnacle Video Transfer is a small device measuring only 4.843"x 2.638"x 0.906" that records analog video onto any USB 2.0 storage device without using a PC.

Press a button and the Video Transfer immediately begin recording from a TV, DVD player, PVR, camcorder or set-top box directly to their Apple iPod Video, iPod nano (3rd generation), iPod classic, Sony PSP, USB flash drive or USB hard drive. For each connected device, the user can select three different recording levels up to 720x480/576px (NTSC/PAL) resolution in MPEG4/H.264 format.

The device supports multiple inputs including S-Video, Composite video, stereo audio analog and the Video Transfer is able to recharge an iPod or PSP battery during video transfer. It would be available on January 15th through the Pinnacle Systems website with a US MSRP of $129.99.

The HP's MediaSmart x280N is a media center extender for Microsoft Windows Vista. Like the MediaSmart TVs, the MediaSmart Receiver x280N has the ability to stream a wide variety of video (including MPEG-2, DivX, WMV, WMV-HD, and H.264/MP4 files), audio (MP3, WMA, WMA-Pro, WAV, AAC/m4a), and images (JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG photos) from networked PCs to your living room TV via its wired Ethernet or wireless 802.11a/b/g/n connections.

The Vista-friendly x280N has USB jacks on the front panel, a slot for "Pocket Media Drive" HDD, analog stereo output, optical digital output, component video and an HDMI video output up to 720p and 1080i resolutions. The MediaSmart x280N will show-off in Las Vegas at CES soon and it has been priced at $300

Asus recently announced the DAV Center A33 a new digital home system with 5.1-channel integrated amplifier and HDMI interface that delivers high definition multimedia right at home.

The A33 can read the latest HD audio formats including SACD Hybrid, DVD Audio, HDCD, and XRCD providing up to 24bit/192KHz sample rates to deliver superior sound performance. It also supports bluetooth and the 802.11n wireless standard which can easily transmit or download a 30-minute HD video in a minute. The class-D digital amplifier with an SNR of 100dB+ supports 4Ω and 8Ω speaker.

The black enclosure measures 430x330x80mm, incorporates a 250W PSU and has a color 2.4 TFT display on its front panel displays the clock and real-time system information such as movie or song titles. The Asus A33 comes with Windows Vista Home Premium and a IR remote control with a track ball design.
