Onkyo TX-SA706X A/V Receiver

A few days ago, Onkyo Japan announced a new high-end A/V receiver, the TX-SA706X. Due on July 19th, this new 7.1-channel receiver is certified THX Ultra2 Plus and provides 200 watts per channel. It includes five HDMI 1.3 inputs, Audyssey Dynamic EQ processing and built-in decoding for Dolby TrueHD/DTS-HD Master Audio formats.

After conversion, the retail price will be close to $1,750.

Onkyo GXW-2.1HD 2.1-channel Home Theater System

Onkyo is introducing the GXW-2.1HD 2.1-channel home theater system, expandable to a full 5.1-channels with the addition of center and rear speakers. The system consists of a receiver with 5.1-channel support outputing 30 W per channel and 60 W from the subwoofer, and a couple of side speakers. The GXM-2.1HD decodes Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless formats as well as DTS Surround Sensation to provide surround sound effects from the front channels. There is also HDMI 1.3 connectivity with DeepColor and x.v.Color support.

The GXW-2.1HD will be released in Japan on June 21th for $500.

Integra has expanded its product range with the arrival early this month of the new DTR-5.9 A/V Receiver. The new model features the same HDMI v1.3a connectivity with Deep Color support and internal decoding of high-resolution audio including DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby Digital Plus, as the best-selling DTR-5.8 that it replaces. The DTR-5.9 also adds two additional HDMI inputs, 1080i upscaling of standard definition sources over HDMI, and Audyssey's new Dynamic EQ loudness compensation technology. Other specs include a 7x 90W power amplifier @ 8Ω, AM/FM tuner, multi-zone capability and the unit Sirius satellite radio ready

The Integra DTR-5.9 is currently available at a suggested retail price of $800.

Here is the X-NX10A, the newest micro component system from Onkyo that comes equipped with an integrated 80GB hard drive. The X-NX10A features a color LCD display, CD player, support for MP3/ATRAC/PCM formats, USB connectivity as well as Ethernet connectivity because the Onkyo's system has the ability to automatically retrieve information on the music you are listening to.

The stereo comes with a pair of 2-way bookshelf speakers including 13cm medium and 3cm tweeters that produce a total output power of 26W each (4Ω). It retails for around $700.

Onkyo WAVIO KM-2W Brushed Aluminum Wireless Keyboard & Mouse Combo

Onkyo is launching the WAVIO KM-2W its second (one year after the KB-1) keyboard/mouse combo for media center, composed of a brushed aluminum keyboard and mouse. The whole system is wireless and comes with 2.4GHz USB receivers, the keyboard has a 106-key Japanese layout plus 7 shortcut keys while the mouse is equipped with a 800dpi sensor.

The KM-2W is due to become available early this month in Japan in both black or silver anodized finish.

The BASE-V20HD is the latest home theater system from Onkyo. This system doesn't include a DVD player, but a compact A/V receiver, measuring just over 20cm wide which delivers 210W power output (5x 30W +60W), supports DTS-HD Master Audio as well as Dolby True HD, has two HDMI ports and the ability to control all VIERA, AQUOS or REGZA compatible products with a single remote control.

It comes with a 2.1-channel speaker system and it's expected to be available in Japan in May for will be available in Japan for something like $890.

Onkyo has upgraded its most popular HDMI-1.3a-capable home theater receiver by adding 1080i video upscaling, two additional HDMI inputs to handle a total of four HDMI sources, Audyssey's new Dynamic EQ loudness compensation technology, and Onkyo's new Music Optimizer circuit. The new Onkyo TX-SR606 replaces the company's best selling TX-SR605.

This receiver also has a powerful 90 watt-per-channel amplifier section, Remote Interactive control over HDMI (RIHD), is Sirius Satellite Radio ready, and offers a full range of advance surround sound codecs, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio to provide lossless bit-by-bit audio identical to the master recordings.

It will be available in black or silver finish in April, for a price below $580.

New Onkyo HT-S3100, HT-S4100 & HT-S5100 Entry level HTiBs

Onkyo has announced the launch this month of three new home theater-in-a-box systems, each consisting of a flexible HDTV-capable A/V receiver with DTS and Dolby Digital processing only, five or seven surround-sound loudspeakers, powerful subwoofer, and an included iPod docking station on two of the systems.

HT-S3100 - 5.1-channel amplifier with passive subwoofer. Price: $379.

HT-S4100 - 5.1-channel system, 200W subwoofer and dedicated iPod dock. Price: $479.

HT-S5100 (pictured) - 7.1-channel system, 3x 1080p compatible HDMI inputs + 1x pass-through, 130 Watts per channel amplifier using Onkyo's Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT), 290W subwoofer and dedicated iPod dock. Price: $579.

The Onkyo CB-SP1380 is another solution to hide your home theater setup, this TV rack include three wide speakers (30x 4cm) left, right and center channel. It measures 1380x 447x 436mm, weighs 42kg. The CB-SP1380 also includes a space in the middle to put the optional DHT-9HD subwoofer with a 16cm driver and a built-in five-channel amplifier with HDMI 1.3a, Deep Color, Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio support as well as the new function to control with a single remote all the VIERA, AQUOS or REGZA products.

Both CB-SP1380 TV rack and DHT-9HD subwoofer will retail next month, however prices are unknown at this time.

Onkyo has partnered up with Sharp and Toshiba to engineer the TX-SA606X receiver which gives you the ability to control with one remote all VIERA, AQUOS or REGZA compatible products. This receiver delivers 185 watts over 7ch (6 Ω) and features the latest HDMI 1.3a (1080p), Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding, Deep Color (36bit) and x.v.Color. Other features include upconversion of analog sources to 1080i/p, Audyssey Dynamic EQ and all the standard inputs/outputs.

The TX-SA606X will goes on sale in April in Japan at a price of 84,000 yen in gold or silver finish.
