Denon S-302 Home Theater System with HDMI and WiFi

S-302 Denon's home theater is on the way. Denon Japan has announced the S-302 to hit the shelves for the end of the month.

The S-302 is a simple 2.1-channel home theater system with a CD/DVD Player and a built-in FM/AM tuner. It also manages the network functionalities such as listening internet radio, music streaming, JPEG sliding show (Album jacket indication) via an ethernet port or a wireless connection (Wi-Fi). You can hook up an iPod to the S-302 with an optional cable or connect it your MP3 player, storage key or else to the USB port on the facade.

The system supports the playback of WMA, AAC (non-DRM), MP3, WAV and FLAC audio formats. The S-302 read DVDs but unfortunately it doesn't supports DivX and XviD formats, however the HDMI terminal can upscale the video output to 1080p.

The bookshelf speakers are 2-way models fitted in a closed cabinet with 3 speakers, 2x 8cm cone type drivers for the medium and 1x 2cm tweeter, the subwoofer loads a 16cm diameter cone type driver. There is no specification on the output power delivered by the amplifier, we just know its power consumption of 104W (0.3W in stand-by).

Creative launches Travelsound i50 a Portable Speaker for iPod ShuffleCreative Japan has announced this friday a nomad speaker for the iPod shuffle at a price of $69 and it will be available in the mid-September.

The Travelsound i50 lets you share your music everywhere you go with its robust thin case with brushed metal finish, this portable speaker measures only 4.7x 1.5x 12.8 cm, it has a keychain attachment which allows you to clip the Travelsound i50 to a bag or a jeans and it also includes a clear plastic cover for protecting the player from scratches and dust.

The built-in lithium-polymer battery can power the four micro drivers for about 15 hours of continuous playback and an USB port with LED status indicator is available to charge your iPod via the Travelsound i50. The stereo speakers deliver 2x 700mW RMS with a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of 80dB and a frequency response of 180Hz~20kHz.

Klipsch will release an high-end pair of floorstanding speakers this fall. At $15,000 a pair, the company plans to use this ultra-luxury product with unprecedented proprietary technologies to fulfill the most exacting demands of select customers around the world.

The P-39F is a 3.5-way "Tapered Array" design, employing a proprietary horn-loaded tweeter assembly made up of unique acoustically-damped materials, a 4.5-inch inverted aluminum diaphragm driver powered by three high-temperature neodymium magnets, and three 9-inch aluminum cone woofers to create a stunningly precise audio experience with high sensitivity and extremely low distortion.

Featuring a boat-tail enclosure, the P-39F cabinet walls are up to 30mm thick and features multiple laminations of medium density fiberboard that have been molded through a proprietary process. Extensive internal bracing gives the speaker a more rigid and structurally sound enclosure.

For a complete home theater experience, six other globally-inspired high-end models, which use the same technology and design principles as the P-39F, will be introduced at CES 2008 in Las Vegas.

They aren't many iPod Docks with tube amplifier on the market but this one from Dice will enjoy you.

The iTPA-220 is a nice amplifier delivering 2x20W that will give you a warm analog sound with its tubes (2x 6N3 tube). The dock includes an iPod charging function, a video output hooked up from the iPod for playing video on a TV for example. Also an auxiliary input has been added for playing additional audio devices such as computers, non-Apple MP3 players and so on.

The speakers are constructed in a bass-reflex wooden cabinet for better sound reproduction with inside a 4" mid/bass driver and 1" dome tweeter for full dynamic range.

The iTPA-220 costs $299 and won't be available until September, but you can pre-order it on Dice Electronics website now.

Yamaha is introducing on November for an undisclosed (but surely expensive) price a new 11.2-channel A/V receiver fully loaded of many features.

The RX-Z11 offers plenty of audio certification such as a Dolby TRUE HD, a Dolby Digital Plus, a DTS HD Master Audio, a Neural Surround THX Technologies and a THX Ultra2 Plus. This receiver gets 5x HDMI 1.3a inputs with the support of 1080p resolution and 2x USB ports (front and rear apnel) for connecting any USB memory devices, portable audio players or USB HDD (FAT32 format, up to 2TB) and the best is that you can connect the RX-Z11 to your PC and access the Internet Radio via LAN.

The amplifier stage is based on symmetrical layout and a new power circuit layout with Low-impedance designed for high quality sound is delivering a total of 1,180W (140W x 7 + 50W x 4) through the 11 discrete channels.

Denon has announced its latest compact audio systems, the D-MX33MD and the D-MX11. This 2 systems will be available in the mid-september, the price is still unknown at the moment.

Both are offering the playback of CD-R/RW, an AM/FM radio tuner and 2 inputs, a mini-jack and an USB connector. They deliver 2x20W through the 2-way speakers with 14cm woofer mounted in a bass-reflex cabinet and the D-MX33MD version has an additional MiniDisc (MD) player.

Sennheiser announced an updated version of the HD25-SP. These closed dynamic headphones are perfect for monitoring, recording and outdoor applications. They are also a lower-cost alternative to the HD25-1 II and they should cost approximately $100.

The HD25-SP II is only shipped with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter stereo jack plug and 3 meters OFC cable. However the specifications are not in rest because the HD25-SP II boasts an impedance of 60Ω, a sensitivity of 114dB and a frequency response of 30Hz ~ 16kHz for a distortion factor of 0.5% or less which are not bad for a $100 headphones.

The Sennheiser HD25-1 II will be an improved version of the previous model HD25-1. These headphones belong to the "Closed Dynamic" family still adopt the double arm and weight approximately 140g (without cable), as for the price, it has reached $200.

The HD25-1 II is bundled with 2 different sized ear pads, 1.5 meters steel cable and a 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter stereo jack plug. Note that almost all parts including ear pads, cable, ear cups, and headband pads are replaceable.

And for the technical specifications the HD25-1 II has an impedance of 70Ω, a sensitivity of 120dB and a frequency response of 16Hz ~ 22kHz for a distortion factor of 0.5% or less.

Denon has announced a low budget 5.1 home theater all-in-one package. Called DHT-M380 this home theater includes an A/V receiver (AVC-M380), 5 speakers and 1 subwoofer.

The AVC-M380 amplifier delivers 5x20W + 1x20W @ 6Ω and the unit is able to decode DTS, DTS 96/24, Dolby digital and Dolby professional logic II in 5.1 channel output mode and Dolby virtual speaker and Dolby headphone in 2.1 mode. The amplifier has a minimum connection with only 3x analog inputs, 2x analog outputs and 3x digital optical inputs. The 5 speakers use 8cm fullrange speakers mounted in a wooden cabinet and the subwoofer adopts a 16cm driver. As these speakers are magnetically shielded you can place them near your television without causing picture distortion.

This package will be available for the next month but the price is still unknown at the moment.

Pioneer introduces a couple of new audio systems, the "Z series" including the X-Z7 and X-Z9 stereo systems.

Both can read Super Audio CD (SACD) MP3, WMA, normal CDs and CD-R/CD-RW. They can support more formats with the USB input or via the optional iPod Dock available in october such as MPEG-4, AAC, WAV and FLAC. However if you don't want to listen this, there is also a built-in FM/AM tuner to satisfy you. The "Z series" can get hooked up to your personal network via the Ethernet port on the rear panel.
The system comes with 2 bookshelf speakers (3-way for the X-Z9 and 2-way for the X-Z7) designed for a maximal output of 50W.
