Klipsch Icon W Series of Home Theater Speakers

Klipsch has recently launched the Icon W series of home theater speakers, including five speakers, the WF-35 and WF-34 floorstanding speakers, the WB-14 bookshelf speaker, the WC-24 center channel and the WS-24 surround speaker. And all of these speakers feature exclusive Klipsch's XT Tractrix Horn-loaded technology, used by Klipsch for almost 60 years.

The WF-35 and WF-34 floorstanders each employ three high-output fiberglass cone woofers 5.25-inch and 4.5-inch respectively, paired with a 1-inch titanium tweeter mated to an 80-degree by 80-degree round Tractrix Horn.

The WB-14 bookshelf uses one 4.5-inch fiberglass cone woofer, while the WC-24 center channel and WS-24 surround have two. All of these models utilize 1-inch titanium diaphragm compression drivers.

All models are currently available in espresso and Cabernet finishes. Here are the prices: $1,499 for a pair of WF-35 floorstanders, $1,199 for a pair of WF-34 floorstanders, $599 for a pair of WB-14 bookshelf models, $499 for each WC-24 center channel and $749 for a pair of WS-24 surrounds.

Sony Soutina NSA-PF1 Omnidirectional Speaker

This is not a concept anymore, the Sony's Soutina (NSA-PF1) speaker will hit Japan on June 20th. Measuring 1845x 325x 325mm at 12.5kg, the Soutina is an omnidirectional speaker where the sound comes from a 1m organic glass tube which reproduces sound vibration. According to Sony, this new technology provides a natural sound field reproduction.

For the specs, the Soutina speaker is composed of a 13cm woofer, 7cm medium driver and the tweeter is the glass tube. There is also a built-in DAC with bass and treble controls which includes 1x analog audio input (RCA), 1x coaxial digital and 1x optical digital. And to match your home decor, the speaker's glass tube offers the choice between three lighting colors including blue, amber and purple. As for the price, the Soutina comes for $8,000.

JVC Japan (Victor) has announced a new pair of bookshelf speakers, the SX-M3 where the M3 stands for Music, Magnesium and Mechanical Base Mount. As said before both tweeter and medium drivers employ magnesium in their construction. The cabinet is made up of cherry wood veneer and to reduce vibration, the engineers added a cast-iron base with three foot along with a trapezoidal cabinet structure.

The SX-M3 are available in Japan for $950 per speaker, so if you want to listen stereo music, you have to buy a pair... tongue

Axiom Audio has introduced its Millennia Garage bookshelf speaker, which the company says is a cross hatch on-wall version of their M3 speaker. The Millennia features a 1-inch tweeter, 6.5-inch subwoofer and 2.2 Hz crossover rate. It measures 13.5x 8.5x 8.25-inches and weighs about 13 pounds. It will begin shipping this summer for $375.

The portable speaker employs airSOUND technology to allow you listen to a "personal stereo aura". No bigger than a mobile phone, it hangs around your neck and plugs into your iPod, music phone, media player, laptop or anything that you can connect to a 3.5mm jack.

Measuring just 102x 60x 19mm and weighing 115g, the T3 is powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery, providing up to 10 hours playing time on a single charge. It's planned to be available in the UK in July for £80.

Klipsch Expands Palladium Speaker Series with Six Models
P-17B bookshelf and P-38F floorstanding speakers

With the introduction of the P-39F floorstanding speaker last year, Klipsch established new standards for audio excellence and visual impact. Now, the company is bringing the same design principles and style to six other Palladium Series speakers: the P-38F and P-37F floorstanders, P-17B bookshelf speaker, P-27C center channel, P-27S surround and P-312W subwoofer.

The P-38F and P-37F floorstanding speakers feature the flagship P-39F’s technology and design in slightly smaller, but equally stunning, packages. The Palladium P-17B and P-27C speakers feature 3-way design, while the floorstanding models offer 3.5-way performance. Also, all models, except the P-312W subwoofer, load 7-inch woofers (8-inch for the P-38) and the famous Tractrix horn-loaded midrange and supertweeter from the P-39. The subwoofer features three 12-inch woofers and a built-in amplifier.

The entire Klipsch Palladium Series is expected to be available worldwide for purchase in June.

The German manufacturer of loudspeakers Canton, has renewed its high-end Karat family of music and home theater loudspeakers with six new speakers to replace discontinued models. The new models, including the 795 DC, 790 DC, 770 DC, 755 DC, 730 DC and 720 replace, respectively, the previous Karat 711 DC, 709 DC, 707 DC, 705 DC, 703 DC and 702 models, while the Karat AS 750 SC subwoofer with its 350 W IcePower amplifier remains in the line. All of this models incorporate upgraded drivers and crossovers, subtly refined cabinet aesthetics, and new high-gloss finish options.

Prices range from $2,400 per speaker for the top-of-the-line Karat 795 DC, to $600 each for the two-way Karat 720.

In the middle of 2008, the new CL 120 X from Piega will make its market debut. The CL 120 X speaker features a two-piece assembly with a 22cm MOM bass chassis to provide deep bass and the large C1 coaxial ribbon system (also used in legendary C 40) mounted, like all Piega's loudspeaker, in a cabinet made up of extruded aluminum.

The CL 120 X will be available in aluminum silver, black anodized aluminum and piano lacquer finishes.

Paradigm PDR-8 & PDR-10 4th Generation Subwoofers

Paradigm has introduced its 4th generation PDR subwoofers, the PDR-8 and PDR-10. Both models are reinforced polymer-composite cones on the 8.5" and 10.5" single forward-firing drivers. The new cone material ensures excellent rigidity and superb internal damping.

Two RCA (L/R-Mono) line-level inputs have been added to accommodate L/R line or Sub-Outputs as well as LFE-Outputs for receivers, processors and other line-level sources. They also offer auto-On/Off, phase alignment switch for 0 degrees or 180 degrees and cut-off frequency control.

The Paradigm PDR-8 v.4 and PDR-10 v.4 have removable grilles (for customization) and will be available in black or silver color.

Dynaudio Unveiled New Excite Line of Loudspeakers

Dynaudio has unveiled a new line of loudspeakers for home theater, the Excite. Including the X12, X16, X22, X32 and X36, this product range is equipped with a new driver technology with MSP (magnesium silicate polymer) membranes, die-cast aluminum frame baskets, lightweight aluminum voice coils, phase aligned first-order crossover networks and soft dome tweeters. This driver offers a longer linear excursion of the voice coil, allowing for higher dynamics at high volumes.

All models feature a low-resonance cabinet construction and a rigid 25mm front baffle, available in rosewood, cherry, black ash or maple finish and will start shipping in June.
