The new Yamaha YSP-3050 digital sound projector offers great new features compared to the YSP-3000 such as 1080p-compatible HDMI, full iPod compatibility via the optional YDS-11 dock and some front panel mini jacks. Otherwise the YSP-3050 is similar to the YSP-3000 with an array of 21 beam drivers, 2 woofers, and 23 matching digital amplifiers. It also offers full support for surround sound standards, including Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6, as well as CINEMA DSP technology, to create realistic soundscapes in any room. The YSP-3050 is currently available for a suggested retail price of $1,399.95.

Especially for the UK market, Yamaha has released the TX-761DAB DAB tuner. In addition to AM/FM bands, the tuner handles both band III and L-band with highly sensitive reception capability and superior tuning performance. This tuner lets you preset a large number of stations: 99 DAB stations and a total of 30 AM and FM stations. The TX-761DAB includes optical and coaxial digital audio outputs, and a remote control as well. The Yamaha DAB tuner is now available from British stores at £249.

Yamaha CD-S1000The new Yahama's CD-S1000 SACD player and A-S1000 stereo amplifier inherit the sound quality and design of the 2000 series. Both new models are cheaper, £799 for the CD-S1000 and £899 for the A-S1000. The Super Audio CD player is equipped like the CD-S2000 model, but without balanced output circuitry. It has differential D/A converters for high conversion precision with low noise, silent loader and high precision CD drive, four-part power supply with independent structure and separate analogue/digital sections. The CD-S1000 boasts an impressive 113dB signal-to-noise ratio and a harmonic distortion as low as 0.002%. First introduced in the A-S2000, the floating balanced power amp section with a high quality preamp section is also used in the A-S1000. And, to ensure maximum sound quality even when the tone controls are used, Yamaha employs triple parallel electronic volume and tone controls. The A-S2000 amplifier provides a maximum output power of 2x 160W @ 4Ω with a THD of 0.7%.

| Yamaha YST-001 Speakers have Built-in Light |

Yamaha has partnered with Koizumi to release a new speaker with built-in light. Unlike the Philips' ambilight technology, these speakers could react to the sound, but it's not the case here. Each unit has three 25W halogen lamps that are remote controllable down to 20% brightness, designed to reduce the contrast between your TV picture and the wall behind to. Other known specifications of the YST-001, frequency response of 70Hz - 35kHz @ 6Ω and retail price will be around $1,100.

The Yamaha TSS-20 will succeed the TSS-15 released back in late 2006. The TSS-20 is a 5.1-ch. speaker system which could be used either on a TV or a computer, and it comes with a Dolby digital/DTS/AAC decoding unit with 4 DSP modes, analog/digital inputs and a function to virtually switch on a 3.1-ch. system. The system delivers 48 watts of power; Satellite: 5x 6W, Subwoofer: 18 W. Pricing info is still unknown but it will be available in late May in Japan.

| Yamaha to launch Three New A/V Receivers in Japan |

Yamaha has announced a new line of A/V receivers with three models including the DSP-AX463, DSP-AX763 and DSP-AX863. Expected to be available this month, each model will includes the YPAO Auto Setup, Cinema DSP, built-in radio tuner and will offers Bluetooth (YBA-10) and iPod (YDS-11) compatibility with optional docks. DSP-AX463 - 5.1 channel, 2x HDMI, 100 Watts per channel. Price: $600. DSP-AX763 - 7.1 channel, 2x HDMI v1.3a, 95 Watts per channel, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio and DTS-HD MA decoding. Price: $850. DSP-AX863 - 7.1 channel, 3x HDMI v1.3a, 105 Watts per channel and full support for HD audio/video formats. Price: $1,100.

| Yamaha Rolls out New YHT-195 5.1ch HTiB |

Yamaha has recently introduced the YHT-195 5.1-channel home theater in a Box. The YHT-195 is now the cheaper model in the YHT series, it costs about $599 instead of $899 for the YHT-295. The system includes five speakers and an active subwoofer which deliver together up to 600W RMS, the receiver includes high-end features such as 1080p-compatible HDMI switching (2 in/1 out) with 1080p video pass through, 192kHz/24-bit DACs used in all channels, YPAO sound optimization for automatic speaker setup, CINEMA DSP, and four SCENE buttons.

Scheduled for release in mid-May for £500, the new Yamaha YSP-600 digital sound projector will give you high quality surround sound with the Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS Neo:6 compatibility. The sound bar includes IntelliBeam Automated System Calibration for easy setup, a built-in 62W digital amplifier, 1080p-compatible HDMI (2 in/1 out) and several sound presets. The YSP-600 measures 61cm wide so it should nicely under a 32" flat TV.

Yamaha will launch in mid-April in Japan a new home theater in a box called the DVX-1000. Composed of a subwoofer, two front speakers and a DVD player/Integrated amplifier the DVX-1000 is able to deliver 7.1 surround sound with Yamaha's "Air Surround Xtreme" technology. The integrated amplifier boasts a total of 280W, 2x 90W + 100W for the subwoofer. The DVD player is compatible with video formats like DivX, MP3 and WMA, if features Faroudja DCDI chip with 1080p upscaling, Dolby digital/DTS/AAC decoders, an AM/FM radio tuner along with HDMI and USB connectivities.
